Now in its 29th year, the "Hats & Heels" Easter Walk visits 7 venues with drag shows, entertainment, and prizes. 100% of proceeds support the CARE Center at Dignity Health St. Mary Medical Center, providing HIV/AIDS services since 1986. The event was started in 1997 by community member Rick White (Sheeya Mann) and is produced by Jewels Productions. Grab your bonnet and hop to it!

How much does Easter Walk cost?

Easter Walk is free to attend — no ticket, no registration, just show up and hop along! Donations are made directly to the St. Mary Foundation at Dignity Health, bunny-earmarked for the CARE Center programs. In 2024, participants helped raise over $40,000, with lifetime fundraising exceeding $500,000. Every dollar goes straight to helping those living with HIV/AIDS.

What is the CARE Center?

The CARE Center is a nationally recognized HIV/AIDS program based at Dignity Health St. Mary Medical Center in Long Beach. Operating since 1986, it currently serves over 1,500 men, women, and children living with HIV/AIDS, providing comprehensive medical, dental, and social services at one site. 100% of Easter Walk proceeds are bunny-earmarked for CARE Center programs — because this bunny only hops for a good cause.

Who organizes Easter Walk?

Easter Walk is produced by Jewels Productions. The event was founded in 1997 by Rick White (known as Sheeya Mann) and has been carried on by Long Beach drag diva Jewels along with dedicated volunteers from the Long Beach LGBTQ+ community. Nearly three decades of fabulous, darling!

What should I wear to Easter Walk?

Honey, the theme is "Hats & Heels" — so put on your most fabulous Easter bonnet, your fiercest heels, and dress to impress! Costumes, creative hats, and festive outfits are not just encouraged, they're practically required. Prizes are awarded for the best looks, so don't you dare show up basic.

How can I donate to Easter Walk?

Hop over to any Easter Walk venue and grab a donation slip — sign your name and be fabulous, darling! You can also donate online through the Easter Walk website in amounts of $25, $50, $100, or $250. Every cent is bunny-earmarked for the CARE Center at St. Mary Medical Center. No middlemen, no overhead — just love.
